Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system.
2) Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance.
3) To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
4) Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
5) Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
6) esponsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development team
7) Responsible for supporting Netezza, Informatica, MySQL, PostgreSQL when needed.
Skills / Attributes Required:
8) Proven Oracle Database Administration experience.
9) Experience of managing multiple RDBMS on large systems.
10) Practical experience in working with RMAN, Materialized views, standby setup and maintenance.
11) Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
12) Practical experience in managing the internal and external database security
13) Experience of other database systems, preferably MySQL, PostgreSQL , Sybase is a plus.
14) Oracle Certification, preferably OCP is a plus.
15) Strong foundation in shell scripting. Perl programming is plus.
Education: B-Tech /B.E with 60% throughout academics only need to apply.
